Director, Clinical Management

Join Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. as a Director, Clinical Management, leading clinical development programs from our Des Moines headquarters. This full-time role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution to drive the success of complex pharmaceutical development initiatives.

The Opportunity

As Director of Clinical Management, you'll own the operational strategy and day-to-day execution of our clinical development programs. Working alongside the Senior Director of Clinical Management, you'll build scalable systems and processes that keep projects on track, on budget, and aligned with regulatory requirements. This role demands a leader who can translate complex clinical science into actionable operational plans and who thrives coordinating across multiple departments and stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute operational strategies for clinical development programs, with emphasis on Central Nervous System (CNS) therapeutic areas
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning clinical, regulatory, quality, and project management to ensure coordinated program delivery
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; track progress against milestones and escalate risks proactively
• Oversee site activation, patient enrollment, trial operations, and data management activities
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and industry best practices across all programs
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic priorities and operational improvements

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, or Master's in life sciences, clinical research, or related field)
• 8+ years of experience in clinical development, clinical operations, or project management within pharmaceutical or biotech
• Proven expertise in CNS program management strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships
• Proficiency with clinical trial management systems and regulatory documentation practices
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
