Senior Director, Analytical Development and Quality Control (Small Molecules)

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking an accomplished Senior Director, Analytical Development and Quality Control (Small Molecules) to lead the science that brings safe, high-quality therapies to patients. This full-time, on-site leadership role is based in Urbanización El Vedado, San Juan.

About the Role

As Senior Director, Analytical Development and Quality Control (Small Molecules), you will set the strategic direction and oversee day-to-day execution of the analytical functions that underpin small-molecule drug substance and drug product development. Working in Urbanización El Vedado, San Juan, you will guide analytical work across the full product journey — from early development and clinical supply through commercial manufacturing and ongoing lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deliver comprehensive analytical strategies that support drug substance and drug product development for small molecules.
• Provide leadership across analytical development and quality control activities spanning clinical supply, commercial production, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure all analytical methods, testing, and documentation meet applicable regulatory and compliance expectations.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analytical and quality control professionals.
• Partner cross-functionally to align analytical capabilities with broader development and manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience directing analytical development and quality control functions within a pharmaceutical or related regulated environment.
• Deep technical expertise in small-molecule analytical science across drug substance and drug product.
• Strong command of regulatory requirements and quality compliance for clinical and commercial supply.
• Proven ability to set strategy and translate it into operational execution and measurable results.
• Available to work full-time on-site in Urbanización El Vedado, San Juan.
