Direct Support Professional – Residential Group Home – Thursday – Saturday Afternoons – 12 Hours

Join Bristol Adult Resource Center as a Direct Support Professional for our residential group home in Bristol, Hartford County. We're seeking compassionate, reliable professionals to provide essential support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during evening and weekend shifts.

About the Role

This is a part-time position offering 12 hours per week, working Thursday through Saturday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. You'll be part of a dedicated team that empowers our residents to live with dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement in their community.

What You'll Do

• Provide personal care assistance and support with daily living activities in a residential setting
• Foster a safe, respectful environment that promotes resident autonomy and well-being
• Assist with meal preparation, household tasks, and community outings
• Support residents in maintaining healthy habits and personal hygiene
• Document observations and communicate updates to supervisors and team members
• Respond to resident needs with patience, professionalism, and genuine care
• Help coordinate recreational and social activities that enhance quality of life

• Ability to work evenings and weekends reliably and punctually
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical capability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
• Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid driver's license (preferred)
• Willingness to complete required training and background screening
