DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy operating across multiple regions. We are seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing engineering practice on a fully remote basis from Latin America. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse client projects involving complex, production-scale infrastructure on AWS.

Candidates must be able to overlap with US business hours and will work in a collaborative environment where quality, security, and reliability are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production infrastructure on AWS, including ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and S3
• Operate Aurora/PostgreSQL databases in production with multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and replica lag monitoring
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated deployment and tested rollback paths
• Conduct rollback drills and maintain deployment automation standards
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar tools
• Perform load testing with k6 or equivalent and operate services against latency SLOs and error budgets
• Support SOC 2 or similar audit processes, including evidence collection and client security reviews
• Manage vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening practices
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct root-cause analysis
• Manage containerization and orchestration using Docker and ECS/Fargate

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3)
• Proven experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production environments
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Solid background with Docker and container orchestration
• Track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with deployment automation including rollback procedures
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling
• Experience with load testing tools and SLO management
• Security-first mindset with practical experience in vulnerability management and compliance
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar audit requirements
• Incident response and on-call experience
• Background working with large, complex systems
• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to overlap US business hours
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for compliance retention
• Experience supporting secure multi-tenant environments (e.g., PostgreSQL Row-Level Security)
• Experience with database migration tooling and expand/contract schema changes
• Background in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains such as fintech or telecom
