About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential legal technology organization in their search for a founding Head of Product Marketing. This is a leadership role reporting to the Head of GTM, with direct collaboration across executive, product, engineering, and sales functions. You will own how this organization positions itself in market, setting strategic direction for messaging, content, and sales narrative across all customer touchpoints.
Responsibilities
- Develop positioning and messaging that translates complex technical capabilities into clear, differentiated customer value propositions
- Own the editorial calendar and set the strategic agenda for company communications and content releases
- Build product launch narratives that define the problem, message, target audience, proof points, and overall story before assets are produced
- Write and edit across all brand voice touchpoints including website copy, product pages, email campaigns, blog content, social media, scripts, presentations, and sales materials
- Partner with executive leadership to develop compelling posts, video content, panel discussions, and interview opportunities
- Conduct customer research and work directly with Sales and Success teams to capture authentic buying language and integrate it into marketing strategy
- Direct video and content strategy, determining what to produce, who presents, and how to position each piece, including presenting on camera when appropriate
- Create sales enablement materials that explain products effectively across different conversation lengths and buyer contexts
- Monitor competitive landscape and broader AI market developments to continuously sharpen positioning
- Collaborate with performance marketing to refine messaging based on conversion data and audience response
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing, communications, or storytelling roles within AI, enterprise software, legal technology, or similarly complex product environments
- Demonstrated experience in law, legal technology, legal journalism, or marketing to legal audiences, with understanding of how legal professionals evaluate and purchase technology
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment across multiple formats including headlines, product narratives, email campaigns, scripts, and web copy
- Proven track record owning product positioning and messaging, with ability to translate technical features into customer value
- Experience planning and executing complete product launch cycles from strategy through execution
- Experience directing video and content production, with comfort presenting on camera
- Ability to develop sales enablement narratives at multiple levels of depth for different buyer personas and contexts
- Experience conducting customer research and interviews to extract authentic language and buying motivations
- Comfortable collaborating across product, engineering, sales, and external agency partners while maintaining strategic direction
- Proficiency with modern AI tools to enhance productivity and output quality
- Background as a former lawyer turned marketer, legal or business journalist, or performance marketing strategist is a strong advantage
- Must be based in the United States with meaningful Eastern Time availability and willingness to travel periodically for client meetings and team events
