DevOps Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential alternative investment firm seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a critical role in building and maintaining a world-class technology infrastructure environment. You'll work closely with colleagues across international offices and serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business users, making strong communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support DevOps systems including Puppet, Jenkins, GitHub, and SVN
• Manage software compilation, deployment, and lifecycle management for core application platforms
• Administer and automate Linux systems, including resource management, continuity and resiliency planning, security operations, and patching/upgrade lifecycle management
• Monitor and troubleshoot core systems, identifying solutions to resolve issues and recommending changes to improve performance
• Support business and technology development teams with dependency resolution and software testing methodologies

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' experience in development or IT operations within financial services
• University degree preferred
• Hands-on experience with multiple DevOps tools:
  • Infrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform, Puppet, etc.)
  • CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Source Control Management (GitHub, SVN, etc.)
  • Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with public cloud management and automation (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to gather and translate business and technical requirements into reproducible and resilient technology systems
• Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and displays commitment to delivering high-quality results
• Team player who enjoys collaborating across the business
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with both technical experts and business users
