Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential state transportation agency seeking a Developer 4 to join their Enterprise GIS team. In this role, you will:
- Develop COTS and customized Esri ArcGIS web applications, web services, mobile solutions, and enterprise platforms
- Build geoprocessing and GIS web services to support agency operations
- Create GIS web editing and mapping applications for internal and public use
- Conduct performance, unit, system, integration, and quality assurance testing of all applications
- Maintain, upgrade, and migrate existing applications and services to current system architectures
- Provide end-user support and develop comprehensive support documentation
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and cross-functional IT teams including database, network, and server personnel
- Estimate work effort and propose development solutions aligned with internal standards
- Assist in integration efforts for specialized asset management systems
What We're Looking For
Our client needs a developer who can hit the ground running with:
- Strong experience developing enterprise-level Esri ArcGIS solutions including web applications, services, and mobile platforms
- Proficiency in geoprocessing and GIS web service development
- Experience with web mapping and editing application development
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices
- Ability to work within established SDLC frameworks and technical standards
- Experience supporting large user bases and high-traffic web applications
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with IT infrastructure teams and business stakeholders
- A personal cell phone for business communications
Location: United States. Commuting expenses including parking are the responsibility of the candidate.
Employment Type: Contract position with potential for annual renewals based on organizational needs and performance. The initial contract runs through the end of the fiscal year, and successful consultants have historically worked for multiple years through extensions. Please note there are 12 agency holidays during which contract work is not permitted. Extended leave during the first year requires management approval.
