Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Software Defined Networking team. This is a remote position within the United States, offering a 12+ month contract with strong potential to convert to permanent hire.

You'll work with a high-performing team that takes a militantly automated approach to infrastructure. Everything lives in source control, pipelines drive deployment, and configuration modeling ensures standards are enforced through tooling rather than manual processes. This team builds and operates cutting-edge networking technology across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and test software to manage network infrastructure and configuration
• Create and participate in peer code reviews through pull requests
• Continuously evaluate and improve software modules and automation tooling
• Support production systems through both automated and manual intervention when needed
• Collaborate with partners and external vendors to address technical requirements
• Work across internal IT teams to resolve complex networking and infrastructure issues
• File and track bugs and feature requests needed for production-grade service delivery
• Document solutions thoroughly to build a globally accessible internal knowledge base

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• Expert-level Go programming skills
• Terraform expertise for infrastructure as code
• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, NAT, and load balancers
• Experience driving complex software projects from design through ongoing operations
• Ability to write high-quality, secure code following SOLID design principles across multiple languages (Go, Python, C#, Java, JavaScript)
• Expert knowledge of modern automated software testing approaches
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, pull requests, git workflows, and command-line tooling
• Strong technical documentation skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset

Desired:

• Jenkins experience
• Python proficiency
• HTTP and REST API expertise
