We're seeking a full-time Designer – Hospitality to join Gensler's studio in India. In this role, you'll collaborate with Design Directors and design leadership on compelling projects across hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, entertainment, and retail environments, creating spaces that define guest experiences and drive business outcomes.
What This Role Involves
As a Designer within our India team, you'll be an integral contributor to our design process, translating project briefs into cohesive, rational design solutions. Your work spans diverse sectors—from boutique hotels and dining establishments to commercial interiors, retail destinations, and entertainment venues. You'll engage directly with design leadership to develop concepts that balance aesthetic vision with practical constraints, client requirements, and market considerations, ensuring each project reflects Gensler's commitment to thoughtful, user-centred design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts and visual solutions aligned with client briefs and project objectives
- Collaborate with Design Directors and team members to refine design direction and approach
- Produce design documentation, drawings, and presentation materials for client meetings and reviews
- Conduct research on design trends, materials, and best practices in hospitality and commercial sectors
- Communicate design intent and rationale to clients and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the coherence and quality of design work across multiple concurrent projects
Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in hospitality, commercial interior design, or related disciplines
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (CAD, 3D modelling software, Adobe Suite or equivalent)
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to develop ideas from brief to refined solution
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, both visual and written
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
