Data Production Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential quantitative trading organization seeking a Data Production Engineer to join their data operations in London. This is a hands-on role supporting live automated trading systems with real-time production demands.

• Data Engineering: Build tools to classify, onboard, and reconcile datasets. Automate workflows using modern Python data stack technologies
• Data Analysis: Parse and validate large datasets, perform reconciliations and quality checks, and assist quantitative researchers with data cleaning and feature engineering
• Data Debugging: Investigate anomalies in derived datasets, trace issues through complex pipelines using deductive reasoning and technical analysis, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Production Support: Provide proactive monitoring of data pipelines, respond to internal customer inquiries, and resolve issues with quick turnaround in a live trading environment

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in a data engineering or data science role, OR a degree in data science or related technical discipline
• Strong Python experience (strongly preferred)
• Proficiency in at least one SQL dialect (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL) with ability to adapt to others
• Comfortable working in Linux command-line environments
• Detail-oriented with proven ability to solve complex problems across large datasets
• Collaborative mindset for cross-functional projects and customer engagement
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, daily production trading operations
• Experience managing ETL pipelines is a plus
• Familiarity with financial market datasets (e.g., Refinitiv, S&P, Bloomberg) is highly valued
