Online Marketing Trainee (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital marketing agency in Frankfurt am Main that is seeking an Online Marketing Trainee to join their team. Our client operates in a data-driven, AI-oriented environment, working with premium brands across e-commerce, luxury, beauty, and B2B sectors.

This is not a coffee-fetching internship. This is a structured trainee program designed to transform motivated beginners into strategic marketing professionals. You'll gain deep expertise in one specialized discipline while understanding how the entire digital marketing ecosystem works together—what they call the "T-Shaped Marketer" approach.

Responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of campaign building, implementation, and optimization in your chosen specialization: Paid Search (SEA), Paid Social (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn), Amazon Ads/Retail Media, or SEO/GEO (including AI-driven search systems)
• Conduct research and analysis, develop psychologically effective ad copy and creatives, define target audiences and keywords, and create performance reports
• Support experienced account managers with market research and data analysis, learning to translate raw data into strategic client recommendations
• Take on increasing responsibility in client projects as you progress through the training program
• Gain exposure to AI tools and learn how modern marketers leverage artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and adapt to generative search
• Work within agile focus squads of 6-7 people, collaborating closely on client success

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in business administration, marketing, media studies, or comparable education—but mindset matters more than credentials
• Strong affinity for numbers and data; analytical curiosity rather than intimidation when facing complex datasets
• Excellent attention to detail with structured working style; ability to maintain overview of complex tasks
• Eagerness for a steep learning curve; receptiveness to feedback as growth opportunity; proactive team contribution
• Ideally some sense of which specialization interests you most, or openness to discovering it together
• Previous internships or exposure to digital marketing are a plus but not required
• Fluent German and solid English language skills
