Data Center Project Manager

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology infrastructure organization in their search for a Data Center Project Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) team and drive both customer success and internal process maturation.

We are seeking an experienced project manager who can bridge technical and business stakeholders while managing complex data center infrastructure initiatives. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and help shape the future of enterprise digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end VCF projects from initiation through closure
• Collaborate with account teams and pre-sales specialists to evaluate client priorities and formulate project plans
• Develop, define, and execute project plans using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Identify and validate resource requirements; coordinate with sub-contracting teams as needed
• Manage project risks, issues, and overall progress to ensure goals around deadline, scope, and quality are achieved
• Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical teams to ensure all project requirements are met
• Utilize project management tools including SalesForce, SmartSheet, and Jira
• Develop customer relationships and identify additional opportunities for growth
• Help identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Required: IT infrastructure or data center experience (compute, storage, networking)
• Required: Knowledge and expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet and Jira
• Financial and resource management experience; SalesForce proficiency preferred
• Proven ability to independently manage medium to high-risk projects
• Applied knowledge of project management standards using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Understanding of PMBOK and IT project methodologies and lifecycles
• Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including executive-level communication
• Skilled negotiation techniques to reach agreement among differing viewpoints
• Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, and build high morale
• Initiative to contribute beyond core responsibilities when needed
