Data Center IT Manager

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Data Center IT Manager in London. In this role, you will lead a technical support team responsible for maintaining critical IT infrastructure in a large-scale data center environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing an IT support team to achieve KPIs in infrastructure support and project planning
• Collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to address technical and operational challenges
• Developing comprehensive documentation and manuals for hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Planning, executing, and monitoring regular IT tasks to maintain and improve infrastructure operations
• Overseeing hardware diagnostics and issue resolution to ensure continuous data center operations
• Managing project tasks including installation, upgrading, and dismantling of hardware based on operational requirements
• Overseeing asset management processes and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs)

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of team management experience with hands-on server hardware troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of data center operations, server and network equipment principles
• Practical experience in project planning and management
• Knowledge of ITIL methodology and ITSM operational activities
• Basic proficiency in Linux operating system and command-line tools
• Practical experience with server IT hardware, enterprise-grade network switches, and fiber optic cables
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, lists, and graph creation
• Proactive, responsible, and goal-oriented approach to work

Preferred qualifications:

• ITIL and/or PMI certification
• Driving License (Category B)
