Controller / Senior Controller (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a Controller / Senior Controller to strengthen their finance team in Berlin. This role goes beyond traditional reporting – you will take ownership, understand complex business relationships, and actively drive improvements through data-driven insights and clear recommendations.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
• Conducting evaluations, target-actual comparisons, and variance analyses
• Independently identifying, sourcing, and preparing relevant data and KPIs in close collaboration with business units
• Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and management presentations
• Supporting analysis of revenue, cost, and performance metrics
• Providing the leadership team with well-founded ad-hoc analyses and business evaluations
• Participating in cross-functional projects and advancing digitalization and automation of finance and controlling processes
• Collaborating closely with Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing teams

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Economics, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in controlling, FP&A, finance, accounting, or a comparable environment
• Structured and meticulous working style with confidence navigating complex numbers and situations
• Enthusiasm for understanding business relationships and supporting data-based decisions
• Very strong Excel skills plus interest in BI tools, automation, and data-driven processes
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and motivation for professional and personal development
• Initiative and readiness to take ownership of your areas of responsibility
• Strong team spirit combined with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
• Excellent German language skills, written and spoken (minimum C1 level)
