About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential software consultancy working with clients across Europe to deliver high-impact engineering solutions. They need a Contract Golang Software Engineer to join a client team building innovative backend systems. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, fully remote within the EU (GMT timezone preferred).

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Go as the primary language
- Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- Work within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to deploy and optimize services
- Apply modern deployment practices including Docker, containers, and Kubernetes
- Implement comprehensive testing strategies across the system lifecycle, including TDD and performance optimization
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to augment your work and increase engineering impact
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Strong backend engineering experience with Go as a primary or strongly preferred language
- Proven experience building and maintaining APIs, backend services, and SaaS platforms
- Comfort working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure, distributed systems, and containerization
- Solid background in testing strategies and performance optimization
- Self-motivated and proactive with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with analytical thinking
- Team-oriented collaborative approach

- Must be based in the EU and able to work GMT timezone hours
