Senior Frontend Engineer – Sell Online

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their merchant-facing online products division in Cologne, Germany. This is an office-first role working on high-traffic payment and e-commerce solutions used by millions of small business owners worldwide.

You'll join a small, cross-functional team building and maintaining critical frontend features for payment links, gift cards, and online checkout products. This is a genuine ownership role where you'll shape product direction, not just execute tickets. You'll also contribute to integration products and SDKs used by both internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend features across payment, gift card, and checkout products using clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Develop and maintain integration products and SDKs for internal and external use
• Participate in technical planning, design reviews, and sprint ceremonies, contributing to estimations and architectural decisions
• Reduce technical debt and improve application performance, observability, and accessibility
• Monitor live services and respond to production issues, supporting customer-facing teams when needed

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with TypeScript and JavaScript in production environments
• Hands-on expertise building React and Next.js applications, including server-side rendering and app router patterns
• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library
• Comfort working within CI/CD workflows and agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
• Experience with UI libraries such as Radix or shadcn, plus solid understanding of accessibility and UX best practices
• A product mindset: you care about the value delivered to end users, not just the code written, and can autonomously drive complex features end-to-end
