About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public sector technology organization seeking a Public Sector Consultant to join their team in Hamburg. This role offers the opportunity to shape digital transformation across German public administration, working on meaningful projects that impact citizens and government services. Our client specializes in delivering digital solutions for agencies at federal, state, and municipal levels.

This is a 24-month fixed-term position with flexible remote work options throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Lead and design consulting projects focused on public sector digitalization initiatives
• Guide government clients through implementation of digital transformation projects
• Support strategy development, organizational design, and process optimization for public agencies
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
• Manage project planning and execution, including pilot programs, testing phases, and go-live transitions
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement through workshops, training sessions, and change management activities
• Prepare comprehensive documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and governance materials
• Oversee technical aspects of system implementations including configuration, interfaces, data migration, and testing
• Plan post-implementation support structures, hypercare phases, and transition to stable operations
• Participate in continuous learning through internal knowledge transfer and professional development

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Administrative Informatics, Law, Business Informatics, or related field that qualifies you for this role
• Initial experience in consulting or IT project management; background with public administration is highly valued
• Strong understanding of project planning and governance; familiarity with PMFlex or willingness to learn quickly
• Passion for supporting IT solution implementations from preparation through successful deployment
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage diverse users and stakeholders during organizational change
• Talent for translating complex concepts into clear, accessible documentation
• Technical aptitude and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, customization, and integration
• Forward-thinking approach to post-launch considerations including support structures and user feedback mechanisms
• Interest in administrative digitalization and successful adoption of modern IT services in public organizations
• Knowledge of German public sector frameworks (OZG, EfA, FIM), data protection, or IT service management is advantageous but not required—enthusiasm to learn is essential
• German language proficiency required for this role
