COB Verification Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential health insurance technology organization in their search for a COB Verification Specialist to join their Payment Integrity operations. Our client is focused on innovative claims processing and member-centered service delivery.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Louisville, KY; Minneapolis, MN; Philadelphia, PA; or Salt Lake City, UT. While fully remote now, the work model may evolve to include occasional hybrid presence at regional hub offices.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage the recovery process by conducting outreach to payers and providers regarding overpaid claims
• Make outbound calls to providers to explain overpayment findings and resolve disputes professionally
• Escalate complex provider questions to internal support teams as needed
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of all recovery activities, correspondence, and outcomes in company systems
• Support leadership in scoping, prioritizing, and delivering solutions for payment integrity initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 1+ years of experience in health insurance claims, claims recovery, or a related field
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel for data management and analysis
• Strong communication skills for provider outreach and dispute resolution
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation

Preferred:

• Strong understanding of healthcare claims processing, medical billing, and insurance regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
• Familiarity with provider contract terms and payment methodologies
• 1+ years of work experience in analytics or operations within healthcare
• Knowledge of coordination of benefits (COB) processes
