Cloud Engineer (Multiple)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud consulting organization based in Central London. Our client works with major public and private sector organizations to deliver secure, production-ready cloud platforms and transformations. This role requires travel to customer sites in London up to 3 days per week, though requirements vary by project and week.

Important: Due to the nature of client engagements, SC clearance is required. You do not need active clearance now, but you must be eligible to pass SC clearance checks. Only UK-based applicants can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customer stakeholders to advise on complex cloud transformations
• Build, test, package, deploy and operate cloud platforms alongside shared platform tooling
• Automate the build of cloud infrastructure resources using Infrastructure as Code
• Package services into AMIs, Docker containers or serverless deployments
• Create IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation and Packer
• Deliver platform improvements and new tooling within an agile environment
• Perform Kubernetes administration tasks
• Collaborate with senior and principal engineers to deliver best-in-class cloud platforms, operating models and security models

What We're Looking For

• Genuine understanding of platform and infrastructure engineering concepts
• Experience building cloud resources using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
• Competent in Python for Lambda or equivalent serverless development
• Understanding of the Shared Responsibility model and key challenges of public cloud versus on-premises
• Ability to build, deploy and operate containers, ideally Docker
• Experience creating security guardrails (such as SCPs and Config or equivalents)
• Knowledge of platform engineering concepts, including the difference between platform and DevOps
• Understanding of the challenges of operating services in production
• AWS experience is beneficial, but strong grounding in Azure, GCP or multi-cloud is equally welcome if fundamentals are solid
• Experience with cloud security services (AWS security services are a plus)
• Kubernetes experience
• Curiosity and eagerness to grow alongside senior engineers

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £45,000 - £70,000
