Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential organization in the Bahamas seeking a Chief Legal Officer to serve as the senior legal executive and strategic advisor to executive leadership. This role offers the opportunity to shape legal strategy, governance frameworks, and compliance programs while supporting business growth in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

As Chief Legal Officer, you will:

• Serve as principal legal advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team on strategic initiatives, corporate transactions, and risk mitigation
• Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategy aligned with organizational objectives
• Oversee corporate governance standards, board resolutions, corporate records, and fiduciary responsibilities
• Lead enterprise-wide regulatory compliance programs and legal risk frameworks
• Direct the negotiation, drafting, and review of significant commercial agreements, partnerships, and vendor contracts
• Manage litigation strategy, dispute resolution processes, and relationships with external legal counsel
• Lead legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate transactions
• Promote organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance through whistleblower programs and internal investigations
• Build and lead a high-performing legal and compliance function, including budget management and talent development

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent law degree
• Licensed attorney admitted to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
• 15+ years of progressive legal experience
• Minimum 5+ years in a senior legal leadership role (General Counsel, CLO, Head of Legal, or Legal Director)
• Proven experience advising executive leadership and boards of directors
• Strong background in corporate law, governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts
• Demonstrated experience managing complex legal transactions and litigation matters
• Strategic mindset with ability to align legal frameworks with business objectives
• Excellent leadership and team-building capabilities
