Honor is hiring a Business Development Advisor to own referral demand generation in the San Francisco Bay Area—a field-based role where you'll build and expand relationships with healthcare providers and community partners to drive consistent client referrals to Home Instead's in-home care services.

Position Summary

In this full-time position based in the Northern California territory, you'll serve as the primary relationship owner between Honor's Home Instead care services and a portfolio of referral partners across hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, senior living communities, and social service agencies. Your focus: developing trust-based partnerships that generate qualified, repeat referrals. The role combines consultative business development with field presence—approximately 75% of your time will be spent in the community engaging with referral partners, understanding their needs, and positioning Home Instead as their preferred solution for clients seeking in-home care. You'll move relationships through a clear progression: building awareness, establishing credibility, and ultimately driving consistent referral volume and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand a curated portfolio of referral relationships across diverse healthcare and community-based organizations
  • Execute all stages of consultative sales conversations, from prospecting and discovery through closing and ongoing account management
  • Spend the majority of your time in field-based outreach, conducting face-to-face meetings and building credibility through consistent, value-driven engagement
  • Identify referral opportunities and create momentum by understanding partner organizations' goals, patient needs, and care gaps
  • Align stakeholders within partner organizations around Home Instead's capabilities and value proposition
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation and use data-driven insights to refine strategy and diagnose performance gaps
  • Ensure referred clients successfully transition to care consultations and scheduled service starts
  • Reactivate underperforming relationships and sustain long-term engagement with your portfolio

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of quota-carrying sales experience
  • At least 1 year working in home care, healthcare delivery, or the senior care sector
  • Proven field-based sales experience selling services (not products)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use performance data to evaluate your results, identify gaps, and adapt your strategy
  • Comfort spending most of your workday in the community and driving action-oriented conversations
  • Proficiency with sales and productivity tools, including Salesforce
  • Familiarity with the Bay Area market (a plus: existing professional networks in home care, hospice, or senior living)
