Backend/API Engineer, Money as a Service

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Backend/API Engineer to make an impact on money management systems at global scale. In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and large-scale services that reliably handle high-volume financial transactions
• Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Mentor engineers and contribute to their professional growth
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to build new features while improving internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team environment, maintaining open communication with colleagues

What we're looking for

Our talent team is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• 2-12+ years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships and co-ops)
• Strong coding skills in any programming language—our client's interview process is language agnostic
• Proven collaboration skills with the ability to work across workstreams and contribute to team success
• Ability to thrive with high levels of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems for both internal and external users

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale financial tracking systems
• Practical knowledge of cloud-based services such as gRPC, GraphQL, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS
