Azure Infrastructure Engineer (m/w/d) in Köln

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer for their office in Cologne. In this role, you will be responsible for building, operating, and continuously developing the Microsoft cloud infrastructure. You will provide a stable, secure, and highly available Azure platform while working with the IT team to evolve the future cloud architecture.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Planning, operating, and optimizing the entire Azure platform
• Managing and advancing M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint
• Implementing security policies, Identity Protection, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender
• Administering identities, roles, groups, and authentication procedures
• Developing PowerShell scripts and automating administrative processes
• Monitoring the Azure environment, analyzing performance metrics, and capacity planning
• Contributing to cloud projects and supporting IT leadership on architecture, infrastructure, and security topics

This is a full-time position based in Cologne with a hybrid work model available after onboarding. You will play an active role in the transformation from a primarily on-premises infrastructure to a modern, secure, and scalable Azure cloud environment.

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Completed apprenticeship as IT specialist (system integration) or comparable degree
• Several years of professional experience in Microsoft cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, and SC-300)
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell and Terraform
• Very good German language skills at B2 level for smooth internal and external communication
