Associate Director of Research Analytics

University of Notre Dame is seeking an Associate Director of Research Analytics to lead data strategy and analytical initiatives across our research enterprise. About the Role

As Associate Director of Research Analytics, you will oversee analytical programs and strategic data initiatives that support Notre Dame's research mission and operations. This leadership position bridges information technology and research administration, enabling the university to maximize research efficiency, visibility, and impact. You'll partner with faculty, research centers, and administrative leaders to develop analytics solutions that inform research strategy, institutional planning, and operational improvements across campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive data analytics strategies that align with the university's research objectives and institutional priorities
• Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of analytics platforms, dashboards, and reporting systems serving research administration and academic stakeholders
• Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, quality standards, and documentation practices across research-related information systems
• Collaborate with information technology teams and academic departments to identify analytical opportunities and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide strategic direction on analytics methodologies, emerging technologies, and best practices in research performance measurement and institutional benchmarking
• Direct analytics projects and resources to ensure timely delivery of actionable insights and systems supporting research operations

What You Bring

• Extensive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or research analytics within higher education, research institutions, or complex organizational environments
• Advanced proficiency with analytics platforms, SQL databases, data visualization tools, and statistical analysis methodologies
• Demonstrated leadership managing analytical teams or directing major initiatives in matrix organizations
• Strong knowledge of research administration, institutional data systems, and metrics driving research excellence and competitiveness
• Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to faculty, administrators, and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's degree in data science, analytics, computer science, statistics, or related field; master's degree preferred
