The Opportunity
This is a full-time position offering an opportunity to develop your meat management expertise within a thriving grocery retail environment. You'll work alongside our Meat Manager to oversee daily operations of the meat department, ensuring product quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction at our London location.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assist in managing meat department inventory, ordering, and stock rotation
- Prepare and cut meat products to customer specifications, maintaining health and food safety standards
- Train and supervise meat department staff, ensuring consistent service and compliance with company policies
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and proper display and packaging
- Handle customer inquiries and special orders with professionalism
- Support the Meat Manager in implementing departmental goals and performance targets
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Who We're Looking For
- Experience in meat preparation, butchering, or meat department management
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a retail meat environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate team members
- Ability to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends
- Customer service orientation and attention to detail
- Valid driver's licence and availability to work full-time
- Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive grocery retail team
