Assistant Meat Manager

Position Summary

As Assistant Meat Manager, you'll help oversee daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring every customer leaves satisfied with their experience and purchase.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat Manager in supervising day-to-day department operations
• Maintain food safety standards, proper storage, and sanitation protocols
• Prepare, cut, and package meat products to customer specifications
• Provide knowledgeable customer service and product recommendations
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with product ordering and pricing
• Train and guide team members on department procedures and customer service standards
• Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
• Ensure department displays are attractive, organised, and well-stocked

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in meat preparation, butchery, or retail meat counter management
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of perishable products
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lead by example and support team development
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings and weekends
• Certification in food safety (or willingness to obtain it) is preferred
