The Opportunity
This is a full-time teaching position focused on preparing students for the transition to college, career, military service, or other post-secondary opportunities. At KIPP Nashville Collegiate High School, we believe every student deserves the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate their future with intention. As a College and Career Readiness Teacher, you'll guide students through coursework, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences that connect academic content to career exploration and college preparation.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in college and career readiness to high school students
- Support students in developing essential skills including critical thinking, communication, and professional habits
- Guide students through college research, application processes, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities
- Facilitate career exploration activities, internship placements, and industry partnerships
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with families about academic and developmental growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum with school goals and district standards
- Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive school culture
What We're Looking For
- Valid Tennessee teaching certification or eligibility to teach in the state
- Experience teaching at the secondary level or equivalent professional background in college and career advising
- Strong knowledge of post-secondary pathways, including two- and four-year colleges, career training, and military options
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for supporting student growth and college readiness
- Commitment to equity and student success
