26-27 Director of School Operations

Lead school operations as the Director of School Operations for KIPP in New Orleans, LA. This full-time position manages the day-to-day functioning of a charter school campus, ensuring students thrive in a well-organized, compliant, and mission-driven environment.

What This Role Involves

As Director of School Operations, you'll oversee all non-instructional functions of the school site. You'll manage facilities, transportation, budgets, compliance, and personnel systems to create the operational backbone that enables teachers to teach and students to learn. Your work directly impacts school culture and academic outcomes by removing operational obstacles and maintaining high standards across every process.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage school facilities, maintenance staff, and campus safety to ensure a clean, secure, welcoming environment
• Oversee budget management, purchasing, inventory, and financial planning for non-instructional school operations
• Coordinate student transportation logistics and monitor vendor performance
• Manage human resources functions including hiring, onboarding, payroll coordination, and staff scheduling for operations and support teams
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including food service, special education, and health and safety codes
• Lead operational planning, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives
• Partner with the school leadership team on strategic decisions and annual planning cycles
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for services and supplies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, operations management, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in school operations, education administration, or comparable organizational management role
• Strong financial acumen and experience with budget development and monitoring
• Proficiency with operations management software and data systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to educational equity and the charter school mission
