Assistant General Counsel | Remote | AirStrip, Shared Services

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their Shared Services group. Our client develops clinical surveillance and mobile health solutions that serve healthcare providers across the United States. This is a fully remote position within the U.S., with occasional travel to company offices as needed.

As an integral member of the Legal Department, you'll report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and work alongside an established team of attorneys. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare technology transactions while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements including commercial, software licensing, SaaS, and services agreements in a healthcare and healthcare information technology environment
• Manage complex technology transactions from inception to closure
• Oversee and improve contract management policies and procedures across the organization
• Ensure compliance with procurement and contracting policies, providing guidance and training to business teams in collaboration with the Contracts Manager
• Work with the Privacy Officer and Legal Department members to meet HIPAA privacy, HIPAA security, and other compliance requirements
• Build strong relationships with business teams to address legal support needs efficiently
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to move transactions to closure
• Handle additional transactional, corporate, compliance, and related matters as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school (or equivalent) with a high degree of academic achievement
• Active license to practice law in one or more U.S. states
• At least 10 years of relevant legal experience, including both large law firm and in-house experience
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements in healthcare, healthcare IT, and/or life sciences environments
• Strong understanding of technology and HIPAA privacy and security requirements
• Experience with healthcare information technology (HIT) transactions

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking with the ability to effectively engage internal clients and deliver well-organized presentations

Preferred:

• Experience negotiating intellectual property licensing transactions with universities
• Experience with healthcare IT medical devices

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $170,000 - $210,000 base salary plus bonus potential. The specific rate will depend on your qualifications, prior experience, and geographic location.
