Analytics Engineer, Payments Intelligence

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an Analytics Engineer to join their Payments Intelligence team in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Design, build and maintain analytics engineering systems including data ingestion, data models, pipelines, reporting automation and data products
• Work with colleagues and stakeholders across the payments business unit and broader organization to gather requirements and implement solutions for data projects
• Continuously improve your craft as an Analytics Engineer while upholding high professional standards and sharing knowledge with your team
• Collaborate with engineering teams and data science colleagues, participate in knowledge sharing sessions, and contribute to company-wide initiatives
• Focus primarily on a greenfield payment service provider project with many analytical engineering challenges, while also supporting marketplace payment operations

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Experience as Analytics Engineer, ETL Developer, Data Engineer or similar role
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to write code that is easy to understand, simple to troubleshoot and highly performant
• Familiarity with another programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with analytics engineering tools and services (DBT, BigQuery, Snowflake, Airflow, etc.)
• Familiarity with data modelling, data access and data storage techniques
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to build multi-functional relationships and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Attention to detail
• Excellent written and spoken English

Advantageous experience:

• Working experience in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS
• Experience with payment processing or fintech operations
