Analytics Engineer – Marketing & Growth

About This Role

We are representing a confidential e-commerce client seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own and architect the systems that measure marketing performance and growth. You will define how every euro of marketing spend is tracked, audited, and optimized, directly shaping acquisition strategy and budget allocation across markets. This is a strategic role within a lean, four-person analytics team working on mission-critical initiatives in a fast-scaling environment.

This position is based in Berlin with a global team structure.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the single source of truth for marketing and storefront analytics, defining customer acquisition cost, engagement metrics, and core performance KPIs with clarity and auditability
• Implement multi-touch attribution models and establish the foundation for marketing mix modeling to inform budget allocation and channel investment decisions
• Expand the semantic data model with relevant context and metrics that enable conversational analytics and accelerate time to insight
• Design and build data health metrics that provide visibility into quality, accuracy, freshness, and completeness of marketing and storefront data
• Partner closely with marketing, storefront, and leadership stakeholders to drive faster, data-informed decisions
• Challenge requests that introduce ambiguity, technical debt, or low business impact while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of experience in analytics engineering roles
• Expert proficiency in SQL, dbt, and data modeling with experience building durable, modular systems that scale (tech stack includes Airbyte, Python, Snowflake, Looker)
• Prior hands-on experience building multi-touch attribution models or marketing mix models
• Deep understanding of marketing analytics concepts including ROAS, CPA, MER, attribution logic, CRM data structures, and channel mechanics
• Strong ownership mindset with the confidence to provide strategic pushback when appropriate
• Professional working proficiency in English for clear communication in an international, cross-functional environment
