About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential sports technology organization based in Cologne that is building a digital platform for grassroots athletics. They are seeking a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founder on strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

This is a full-time, on-site/hybrid role based in Cologne (Belgisches Viertel), requiring at least two days per week in the office. The position offers immediate start with flexible timing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ownership of strategic and operational projects from initial concept through to full execution
• Design, build, and continuously refine core company processes and organizational systems
• Collaborate closely with the founder on cross-functional strategic initiatives and prioritization decisions
• Drive process optimization across operational areas as business needs evolve
• Prepare comprehensive decision-making materials and analytical frameworks for leadership
• Execute hands-on implementation across shifting focus areas with direct accountability for outcomes

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in strategy and operations roles with demonstrated impact
• Fluency in both German and English
• Strong process-oriented and structural thinking, particularly in ambiguous environments
• Proven track record independently executing projects in fast-growth settings
• Proficiency with Notion, project management platforms, Google Workspace, and Slack
• Genuine interest in grassroots sports communities and their digital engagement
• Preference for hands-on execution over pure strategy work
• Comfort working without established playbooks in a startup environment

Beneficial experience:

• Background in high-growth startup environments
• Early-stage experience building people operations or organizational processes

Important note: This role is significantly more hands-on than the Chief of Staff title might traditionally suggest. You will both plan and execute with direct ownership across various topic areas. The exact scope will be refined collaboratively with the team.
