Senior Product Manager (ISR) Defence & Intelligence (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential geospatial intelligence organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead defence and intelligence product development. This role combines product strategy, stakeholder management, and deep operational expertise in imagery intelligence and satellite analytics. You will own the product roadmap for AI-based ISR capabilities serving German and allied defence customers, translating complex operational requirements into deliverable solutions that reach end users in secure environments.

This is a Berlin-based hybrid position requiring at least two days per week on-site, with travel within Germany to meet with users and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own the imagery intelligence application product lifecycle from demonstrator through to deployable solution in secure on-premise and air-gapped environments
• Manage product backlog and sprint planning in two-week cycles, translating operational needs into actionable requirements and user stories for engineering teams
• Deliver customer-facing defence projects end to end, managing scope, milestones, deliverables and stakeholder communication
• Build and maintain a unified product roadmap that reconciles customer timelines, operational concepts and technical component maturity
• Serve as the ISR subject matter authority, providing operational guidance on the intelligence cycle, collection tasking and imagery exploitation workflows
• Conduct workshops and user sessions with military and agency personnel, gathering feedback and demonstrating product capabilities
• Support sales and pre-sales activities with operational substance for proposals and bids
• Define release scope and deployment models for classified environments
• Work across teams including ML engineers, full-stack developers, geospatial data engineers, and sales personnel

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Professional background in ISR, GEOINT or IMINT operations through Bundeswehr, intelligence community, defence procurement or defence industry
• Operational fluency in the intelligence cycle, collection and tasking, and how imagery products are produced and consumed at staff level
• Proven ability to translate operational needs into written technical requirements and drive cross-functional work to deadline
• Native or fully fluent German language skills and professional English
• German or European citizenship with eligibility to obtain German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung)
• Willingness to work hybrid in Berlin (minimum two days per week on-site) and travel within Germany
• Strong ownership mentality with ability to push work forward proactively
• Clear communication style and collaborative approach across teams
• Pragmatic mindset balancing operational ambition with delivery reality

Preferred experience:

• Product management or product ownership experience with backlog management and sprint cadence
• Project management in defence or publicly funded programmes (national, EU, NATO)
• Writing CONOPS, operational requirements or capability documents
• Satellite imagery, remote sensing, or AI/ML products
• Software delivery into secure on-premise or air-gapped environments
• Valid German security clearance (SÜ2/SÜ3)
• Working knowledge of NATO standards and interoperability for imagery and geospatial data

Technical environment:

• Product tools: Linear, Confluence, Figma, Google Workspace
• Data: very high resolution optical imagery, synthetic aperture radar, 3D surface models
• Geospatial tools: QGIS, STAC-based imagery catalogs
• Deployment: cloud and secure on-premise/air-gapped environments
