Strategischer Einkäufer / Senior Buyer – Konstruktiver Stahlbau (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential industrial manufacturing organization in their search for a strategic procurement professional specializing in structural steel components. In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement category strategies for steel materials including sheets, profiles, forgings, and castings
• Analyze national and international procurement markets to identify sourcing opportunities
• Select, qualify, and develop supplier relationships across the supply base
• Independently negotiate framework agreements, pricing, and commercial terms
• Conduct cost analyses and implement savings initiatives
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams
• Manage supply chain risks including availability, price volatility, and geopolitical factors
• Support make-or-buy decisions with technical and commercial insight
• Resolve escalations within the supply chain

What We're Looking For

• Completed university degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field
• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, ideally within industrial manufacturing or related sectors
• Genuine curiosity and passion for technical products and economic relationships
• Confident presence and strong negotiation skills
• Experience working with international suppliers
• Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP) and MS Office
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style
• Fluent German and English (negotiation-level proficiency)
• High willingness to travel
