Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital consulting firm seeking a Senior Consultant for Search, Content & AI Visibility in Düsseldorf. In this role, you will drive visibility strategies across traditional search and generative AI systems for B2B clients in manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing integrated search and content strategies that unite classical SEO with generative engine optimization, prioritizing business impact over completeness
• Managing technical SEO in depth: crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, logfile analysis, internal linking architecture, and site migrations
• Creating content and entity architectures aligned with B2B buying journeys, from early awareness content to deep technical resources that language models cite
• Steering content production by briefing internal teams and client subject matter experts, reviewing against search intent and citability, and building content audits that identify cannibalization and gaps
• Building measurable AI visibility through consistent entity representation (structured data, sameAs, Wikidata), citable content formats, and presence in sources that LLMs actually reference
• Establishing AI visibility metrics: prompt-set-based share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Mode, including GPTBot and PerplexityBot logfile analysis
• Conducting SEO and GEO audits with actionable, prioritized recommendations
• Managing multiple retainer client accounts within agreed budgets, leading monthly reporting calls and quarterly reviews
• Presenting to management level, serving as a strategic partner for marketing and digital leaders
• Supporting new business pitches with realistic effort estimates and technical expertise
• Leveraging LLMs and automation for analysis, content optimization, and reporting while maintaining critical oversight
• Coaching colleagues and clients, collaborating closely with content, performance, and analytics teams

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years in SEO with genuine project ownership and responsibility for implementations that continued to perform after handoff
• Deep technical SEO expertise: ability to audit setups with five-figure URL counts and prioritize findings effectively
• Mastery of Search Console including API, Screaming Frog, logfile analysis, and one major SEO suite (Sistrix, Semrush, or Ahrefs)
• Content strategy experience at steering level for complex B2B topics, including theme architecture, editorial planning, and quality assurance
• Ability to write briefings that editors understand, review content against search intent and citability, and recognize when content lacks the depth for generative answers
• Experience with or serious exploration of AI visibility and generative engine optimization
• Data competency: confident reading GA4 and Search Console, ability to work with BigQuery exports, and clear articulation of measurement needs
• Understanding of B2B contexts: recognition that a 9-month buying journey with six stakeholders requires different approaches than D2C e-commerce
• Analytical thinking with courage to deliver clear recommendations, even when they challenge existing assumptions
• Strong communication skills: ability to explain entity structures and technical investments to C-level audiences without oversimplifying
• Hands-on pragmatism with legacy systems and organizational constraints (older CMS installations, extended IT deployment cycles, limited backend access)
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Fluent German and professional English

Valued experience:

• Project work in manufacturing, industrial goods, machinery, or wholesale sectors
• Track record managing content strategies for technical or complex products

Pay

The client's published compensation range for this position is €60,000 to €75,000 gross per year (all-in), encompassing all salary components as target compensation. Placement within this range is determined by your skills, scope of responsibility, and experience level, never by your previous salary. This transparency aligns with EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970) and applicable equal treatment legislation.
