Senior Rollout Manager (f/m/x) – DACH

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector. This senior-level role oversees the complete rollout lifecycle of high-power charging locations across the DACH region—from site preparation and permitting through construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.

You will own end-to-end delivery accountability for a portfolio of charging sites, with particular focus on the most complex, high-risk, or strategically important locations. Your responsibilities include:

• Translating rollout objectives into integrated site and portfolio delivery plans, defining priorities, sequences, milestones, and dependencies with clear governance from site development through operational handover
• Leading cross-functional execution across planning, permitting, construction, grid connection, and logistics—driving timely decisions, resolving conflicts, and actively managing critical interfaces between civil works, electrical systems, grid connection, hardware installation, testing, and commissioning
• Directly managing external engineering firms, contractors, installation companies, and implementation partners—setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, controlling operational and commercial risks
• Owning portfolio risk, change, and action management—identifying critical risks early, defining countermeasures, and executing recovery plans for delayed or significantly off-track sites while protecting quality, safety, and compliance
• Making decisions within your delegated authority and preparing clear decision papers for senior leadership when escalation is required, presenting viable options, impacts, and recommendations
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with authorities, grid operators, landowners, local stakeholders, and implementation partners—representing our client professionally in complex negotiations
• Creating concise, decision-oriented reports for senior stakeholders covering progress, forecasted dates, forecast confidence, key risks, cost exposure, partner performance, and recovery actions
• Continuously establishing and improving rollout standards, governance routines, templates, and implementation guidelines to increase predictability, quality, scalability, and execution effectiveness

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience leading the delivery of complex infrastructure, construction, energy, mobility, telecommunications, or comparable multi-site rollout programs—ideally in HPC charging infrastructure
• Track record of taking end-to-end delivery accountability across the full implementation lifecycle, not just individual project tasks or work packages
• Strong program and project controls expertise including integrated planning, risk management, dependency management, change control, and senior-level reporting
• Experience managing external partners and influencing internal stakeholders in a matrix organization—confident in constructively challenging approaches, making decisions, and escalating when necessary
• Solid practical understanding of interfaces between site development, permit planning, civil works, electrical systems, grid connection, commissioning, and operational handover
• Clear, structured communication in both German and English
• Valid driver's license and willingness to collaborate regularly with teams at site locations
• Team player who delivers high-quality work under time pressure

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience implementing EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy installations, or other decentralized, customer-facing infrastructure
• Established working relationships with authorities, grid operators, landowners, and construction partners in one or more DACH markets
• Experience with high-voltage or electrical infrastructure interfaces and commissioning/handover into an operational network
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office including advanced Excel or comparable project controls tools
• Relevant university degree, technical qualification, or comparable professional experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or a related field
