About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS client in Paris that is building something genuinely new: an AI-native operating system for small businesses. This is a startup-within-a-company structure—a team of six engineers who started from an empty repository earlier this year and are now moving into their first customer deployments.

The product is a system of agents that helps solopreneurs and small businesses run their entire operation: client management, contracts, invoicing, websites, communications. Think of it as modules that grow like an ERP, except built around AI agents from the ground up.

As a Product Engineer, you'll shape what this product becomes. The technical decisions, the user experience, the boundaries between building and integrating—much of that is still undecided, and the people joining now will define it.

Responsibilities

  • Turn high-level business needs into real software: understand the function, define users, design the smallest useful version, model entities and lifecycles, determine permissions and constraints, and decide what to build versus integrate
  • Extend platform primitives rather than reinventing them, then build, ship, monitor in production, and iterate
  • Work across product management, frontend, backend, data modeling, infrastructure, and AI—everyone brings a specialty but nobody stays confined to it
  • Build primarily through coding agents: Claude Code is the workflow for implementation, codebase exploration, documentation, debugging, and operations
  • Decompose problems into agent-executable work, provide context without over-constraining, and distinguish between correct and merely plausible output
  • Verify with tests and instrumentation, and maintain coherence across a large generated codebase
  • Work day-to-day in TypeScript, Kubernetes, and agentic frameworks

What We're Looking For

  • Around 2–5 years of professional engineering experience—we care more about trajectory than tenure
  • Real depth in something, with no attachment to staying there: bring what you're genuinely strong at and expect to spend significant time outside it
  • Coding agents already central to your workflow—Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent. Not just generating unit tests, but real delegation of substantial work and critical review of output
  • Evidence you've owned a problem end-to-end: something you helped define, drove, shipped, and lived with in production. Product questions are your questions too
  • At your best when the brief is one sentence and the plan is still evolving. Priorities change often as the team learns what this product is
  • Strong English communication skills (working language for an international team across France and India; French not required)

If you don't meet all requirements but believe this matches your expectations and experience, we still encourage you to apply.
