Advanced Project Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential industrial automation client in their search for an Advanced Project Engineer. This role focuses on delivering complex engineering projects for sheet manufacturing applications across industries including pulp and paper, lithium-ion battery production, aluminum processing, rubber and plastic film manufacturing, and original equipment manufacturers producing continuous sheet products.

You will work remotely from the Duluth, GA area, reporting to the Lead Project Engineer while coordinating distributed control systems, quality control systems, web inspection platforms, and continuous web solutions.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced engineering projects from validation through successful delivery
• Define and validate project scope, objectives, and technical deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Develop comprehensive project work plans including timelines, milestones, and resource assignments
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and communication throughout project lifecycles
• Manage project risks, issues, and change requests effectively
• Ensure efficient project execution within budget and schedule constraints
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices
• Provide technical engineering expertise for distributed control systems (DCS), quality control systems (QCS), and related automation platforms

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Proven experience in project engineering or project management roles
• Strong technical background in industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering
• Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) and/or quality control systems (QCS) preferred
• Familiarity with sheet manufacturing processes or continuous web applications is a plus
• Excellent project management skills including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with cross-functional teams
• PMP or similar project management certification is advantageous
