Responsibilities
We are representing a leading global economic consulting firm seeking a Senior Associate to join their Antitrust & Competition Economics team in London. In this role, you will work closely with senior consultants on high-profile competition cases across Europe, playing a key role in shaping economic analysis and strategic thinking.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and conceptualizing complex market issues, specifying rigorous economic models, and undertaking statistical and econometric estimation
- Managing and supervising research associate staff, providing training and mentorship
- Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers using market, industry, or proprietary data
- Serving as a primary point of contact for legal and industry clients on practice-relevant issues
- Programming, building models, and performing regression analyses using statistical software such as Stata, Python, R, SAS, Matlab, and Mathematica, including large data projects requiring cloud computing
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all analyses and opinions
- Contributing to practice-building activities including training, recruiting, publication, and expertise sharing
What We're Looking For
Our client seeks candidates completing their PhD in Economics (December 2026/Summer 2027 graduates or ABD) with the following qualifications:
- Academic focus on Applied Microeconomics or Applied Microeconometrics, with specializations in industrial organization, labor, health, behavioral and public economics, or other quantitative areas
- Proficiency in Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, SAS, ArcGIS/ArcPy, or Cloud computing platforms (Databricks/Spark, Google Cloud, Azure, AWS)
- Demonstrated understanding of economic, financial, and accounting concepts, along with quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
- Curious and analytical thinking with creative approaches to non-standard problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages
- Strong initiative, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration capabilities
- Superior time management and task prioritization skills
- Clear interest in consulting demonstrated through coursework, work experience, or relevant activities
This position is based in London and requires working in the office 3-4 days per week. Minimal travel is required as most work occurs in the office.
