About the Role
As a full-time Career Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting student development and career readiness across the school. This is a classified support staff position, working a standard 8-hour school day across our 198-day work calendar. This role directly influences how students envision and plan their futures.
What You'll Do
- Counsel students on career exploration, college preparation, and post-secondary options
- Develop and deliver career awareness presentations and workshops
- Maintain student records and track progress toward career and academic goals
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate career development into the school experience
- Organize career fairs, guest speakers, and industry partnerships
- Connect students with internship, apprenticeship, and work-based learning opportunities
- Support students in resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies
- Stay current with labor market trends, college requirements, and credential pathways
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred
- Experience working with high school students or in career services or education
- Knowledge of college admission processes, career pathways, and post-secondary opportunities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Familiarity with career assessment tools and college and career readiness frameworks
- Commitment to supporting all students, particularly those facing barriers to opportunity

Position Details
