The University of Maryland Department of Neurology in Baltimore, Baltimore County is seeking a Part‑Time Epileptologist with fellowship training to join its Epilepsy Division.
This role combines clinical EEG interpretation with participation in surgical epilepsy evaluations within an academic medical center dedicated to advancing seizure disorder care.
About the Role
As a member of the epilepsy team, you will contribute to diagnostic clarity and treatment planning for patients with complex seizure disorders while collaborating with neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, and neuroimaging specialists.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine, ambulatory, and continuous video‑EEG interpretations for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Attend and contribute to epilepsy surgery pre‑operative evaluation conferences.
- Provide consultative seizures care in the outpatient epilepsy clinic.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to integrate imaging, neuropsychological, and clinical data for surgical candidacy.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and educational activities for trainees.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of EEG findings and clinical recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of an accredited epilepsy fellowship.
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy.
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting routine, ambulatory, and continuous video‑EEG studies.
- Experience contributing to epilepsy surgery evaluation discussions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary epilepsy program.
- Ability to fulfill a Part‑Time clinical schedule while maintaining high standards of patient care.
