Electromechanical Technician

Synthomer is hiring a full-time Electromechanical Technician for its US OH Mogadore Pilot Plant, offering a hands-on role focused on maintaining and troubleshooting vital plant equipment.

Position Summary

As an Electromechanical Technician at the US OH Mogadore Pilot Plant, you will support day-to-day reliability of electromechanical systems that keep operations running smoothly. This full-time position combines electrical, mechanical, and control work in a pilot-plant setting, where precision and safety are essential. You will collaborate with operations and engineering team members to minimize downtime and keep equipment performing at its best. The role is based on site in Mogadore, Ohio, and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical problems with both hands and diagnostic tools.

Your Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electromechanical equipment including motors, drives, sensors, actuators, and control panels at the pilot plant.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and lagging indicators; repair or replace worn components promptly.
• Perform scheduled preventive-maintenance tasks, lubrication, alignment, and calibration to extend asset life.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs to complete work accurately and document changes.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery or system upgrades while following all site safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to isolate issues, restore run-time, and suggest reliability improvements.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and tool inventories while adhering to lockout/tagout and other safety standards.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on experience as an Electromechanical Technician or in a closely related electrical-mechanical maintenance role.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor starters, PLCs, VFDs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation common in industrial plants.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals and to use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team under time pressure.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety rules, lockout/tagout, and personal-protective-equipment requirements.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work on site at the US OH Mogadore Pilot Plant; a high-school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with technical training a plus.
