As a Footwear Specialist at Dickssportinggoods in Bowling Green, you'll combine your passion for athletic footwear with genuine customer service to drive sales and build loyalty in our footwear department. You'll be the go-to expert for customers seeking running shoes, basketball sneakers, hiking boots, and specialized athletic footwear across all major brands. This role gives you the chance to make a real impact by matching customers with products that enhance their performance and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assess their footwear needs based on sport, activity level, and fit requirements
• Demonstrate product knowledge of athletic, casual, and performance footwear across all available brands
• Conduct proper shoe fittings, including gait analysis and arch support assessment where relevant
• Process transactions and maintain a clean, organized footwear department
• Meet sales targets while prioritizing customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Stay informed about new footwear releases and product features to provide informed recommendations
• Assist with inventory management and merchandise displays in the footwear section

Qualifications

• Passion for athletic footwear and sports or active lifestyle experience
• Strong customer service skills and ability to engage shoppers at all levels
• Basic knowledge of footwear types, brands, and fit considerations
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist customers with fitting needs
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work flexible retail hours, including weekends
• Cash handling and point-of-sale system experience preferred
