Greene King is recruiting a Chef to join its kitchen team in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. This is a part-time position for an experienced cook who maintains high culinary standards, works efficiently in a busy kitchen environment, and contributes to a well-organised food operation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate dishes to established standards and recipes
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene standards, and food safety compliance throughout service
• Manage food stock, rotation, and portion control effectively
• Work as part of the kitchen team to ensure timely and consistent service delivery
• Monitor the quality and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen
• Follow all health and hygiene regulations and established kitchen procedures
• Support senior kitchen staff and contribute to menu standards and consistency

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working in a professional kitchen environment
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and health regulations
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet service deadlines
• Strong attention to detail in food preparation and plate presentation
• Collaborative approach with good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliability and flexibility suited to part-time scheduling requirements
• Competence in core cooking techniques and safe food handling practices
