Chef

We're seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Greene King in Hartlepool, Durham. This is a part-time position perfect for an experienced culinary professional looking to contribute to our vibrant hospitality operation.

Position Summary

As a Chef at our Hartlepool location, you'll play a central role in delivering quality food preparation and kitchen management. Working on a part-time basis, you'll prepare meals to our established standards, oversee daily food production, and collaborate with our kitchen team to create an excellent dining experience for our customers. Your expertise in food preparation and kitchen operations will be integral to the success of our venue.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and quality standards
• Manage ingredient preparation, stock rotation, and mise en place procedures
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health and safety compliance in the kitchen
• Coordinate kitchen operations with other team members during service
• Keep the kitchen environment clean, organised, and properly maintained
• Respond efficiently to service demands and customer special requirements
• Support the development and training of junior kitchen staff as appropriate

Requirements

• Proven professional experience working in a kitchen environment
• Strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary standards
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene best practices
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Physical capability to meet the demands of kitchen work
• Flexibility to work part-time shifts, including evenings and weekends where required
