Pierce Technology Corp is seeking a Project Manager for Wealth and Asset Management focused on data modernization to join our team in New York, New York, United States. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to lead mission-critical data infrastructure initiatives within the financial services sector.
The Opportunity
You'll oversee the modernization and transformation of legacy data systems supporting wealth and asset management operations. This role bridges business strategy and technical execution, ensuring data infrastructure evolves to meet contemporary compliance, performance, and scalability demands. Working across departments, you'll champion initiatives that improve data accessibility, security, and operational efficiency for financial advisory and portfolio management teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements for data modernization initiatives
- Manage stakeholder communication across technology, compliance, risk, and business divisions
- Oversee vendor selection, implementation partnerships, and system integration activities
- Monitor project budgets, deliverables, and adherence to financial services regulatory frameworks
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data migration, system cutover, and operational continuity
- Track performance metrics and report progress to executive leadership and governance bodies
What You Bring
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in financial services or wealth management environments
- Demonstrated success leading data infrastructure, cloud migration, or system modernization programs
- Familiarity with data architecture concepts, database systems, and analytics platforms
- Understanding of regulatory requirements (SEC, FINRA, GDPR) relevant to financial data handling
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication abilities
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent practical experience
