Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization seeking a Cloud Engineer / Architect to join their technical team in Köln. In this role, you will:
- Analyze and design modern cloud architecture solutions for client engagements
- Build and operate tailored solutions in cloud and hybrid environments, contributing to continuous improvement
- Assess existing application landscapes and design migration strategies to cloud platforms
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and microservices with project teams
- Ensure security, stability, and compliance through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Manage build, staging, deployment, and release processes independently
- Provide remote and on-site consulting services to clients
What We're Looking For
Our client requires a candidate with:
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable IT qualification
- 3-5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or architecture
- Strong expertise in cloud development with microservices based on Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Deep knowledge of networking and storage for hybrid and cloud-native environments
- Hands-on experience with DevOps / GitOps / CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitLab, CircleCI, or Tekton
- Proficiency in software engineering with Java/Kotlin and frameworks like Quarkus, Spring Boot, or Micronaut
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Proven track record using scripting languages and automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Linux/Bash, and Python
- Quality-focused mindset with strong hands-on execution
- Passion for emerging technologies and continuous learning
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Fluency in both German and English (minimum C1 level written and spoken)
- Collaborative team player who takes initiative and demonstrates strong motivation
