About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public sector technology consultancy based in Köln. Our client is seeking a Consultant to join their team working on digital transformation initiatives for government agencies and public administration. This role offers flexible remote work options throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape consulting projects focused on public sector digitalization initiatives
• Support government clients at federal, state, and municipal levels with digital transformation programs
• Design strategies, organizational structures, and processes for public sector organizations
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
• Manage IT system implementations from preparation through piloting, testing, and go-live phases
• Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and training programs for diverse stakeholder groups
• Create documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for committee processes
• Oversee post-implementation activities including support, hypercare, user feedback, and transition to stable operations
• Engage in continuous professional development through training and team knowledge sharing

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in political science, public administration, administrative informatics, law, business informatics, or related field that qualifies you for this role
• Initial experience in consulting or IT project management, preferably with exposure to public administration
• Strong understanding of project planning and control methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage different user groups and stakeholders through change processes
• Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible formats for various audiences
• Technical aptitude and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customizing, and functional/technical testing
• Forward-thinking approach to post-implementation considerations and sustainable operational structures
• Interest in public sector digitalization and successful deployment of modern IT services in government organizations
• Familiarity with data protection and IT service management principles is advantageous
• Strong German language skills required for this role
