About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public sector digitalization consultancy seeking a Consultant to join their growing team in Berlin. Our client works at the intersection of government modernization and digital transformation, helping public administration entities evolve their service delivery through innovative IT solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to shape how citizens and businesses interact with government services, working on projects that implement digital administrative services and modernize public sector processes. You'll work from Berlin with flexible home office options.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape IT consulting projects within the consulting unit, working directly with public sector clients
• Guide government agencies through digital transformation initiatives at federal, state, and municipal levels
• Support strategy development, organizational design, and process optimization for public administration entities
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution strategies and concepts
• Accompany the introduction of new IT solutions from preparation through piloting, testing, and successful go-live
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement through workshops, information sessions, office hours, and training programs
• Prepare clear documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for committee participation
• Manage post-implementation activities including support, hypercare, user feedback, and transition to stable operations
• Continuously develop expertise through training programs and internal knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in political science, public administration, administrative informatics, law, business informatics, or another relevant field that qualifies you for this work
• Initial experience in consulting or IT project management; public administration experience particularly valued
• Strong understanding of project planning and control methodologies
• Communication skills and ability to guide diverse users and stakeholders through change management processes
• Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible formats for various audiences
• Technical understanding and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customizing, and testing (both functional and technical)
• Forward-thinking approach that considers support structures, user feedback, and operational stability beyond initial deployment
• Interest in administrative digitalization and how modern IT services are successfully introduced in public organizations
• Knowledge of German public sector digital frameworks, data protection, or IT service management is a plus, but willingness to learn these areas is most important
• German language proficiency required for client interaction
