Senior Lead Consultant – Verteidigung & Resilienz (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital consulting organization seeking a Senior Lead Consultant – Defense & Resilience for their Berlin office. This role focuses on advising private defense contractors and security-focused public sector clients on digital transformation and resilience strategies. You will bridge military and governmental requirements with modern IT solutions, working across interdisciplinary teams to develop future-ready digital capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise private and public sector clients in defense and security on secure digitalization and transformation initiatives
• Analyze complex operational, organizational, and technological challenges to develop robust solutions and target architectures
• Translate military capabilities, operational requirements, and strategic objectives into concrete digital solutions and technology architectures
• Develop strategies, roadmaps, and concepts for digitizing security-relevant processes and structures
• Lead projects from strategic conception through implementation, ensuring tangible client value
• Facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders, integrating operational, technological, and strategic perspectives
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and delivery experts while maintaining responsibility for solution quality
• Monitor technological and security policy developments to derive insights for clients and service offerings

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience consulting on, designing, or managing complex digitalization and IT projects, ideally in defense, security, or governmental environments
• Deep understanding of military capability planning and capacity-oriented planning, with ability to derive requirements for modern digital solutions
• Strong grasp of digitizing command and operational processes, including command information systems and their integration into existing system landscapes
• Knowledge of relevant technologies in cybersecurity, resilience, cloud platforms, secure communications, and networks
• Understanding of drones, sensors, unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, and data spaces in military and governmental contexts
• Ability to translate technological developments and complex IT services into concrete military/governmental requirements, use cases, and value propositions
• Confident presence in client workshops, at management level, and in interdisciplinary teams with ability to present complex topics appropriately
• High initiative, strategic thinking, and willingness to take ownership of topics, clients, and portfolio development
• Willingness to travel within Germany and Europe as client engagements require
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and verbal
• Plus: Background in military service or close professional contact with military organizations
• Plus: Experience with classified information handling, security clearances, or work in regulated environments
